What you need

  • An email address you can open – or a Google account.
  • Your contracted weekly hours and workdays, for the setup.

1 · Open the sign-up form

Go to app.zeitbro.com, or click GET STARTED here on the website. You land on the login card, Welcome back. At the bottom, next to “Don’t have an account?”, click Sign up.

2 · Sign up with email

Under Create an account, fill in Full Name, Email and Password, then click Sign Up. The password needs at least 8 characters, one uppercase letter and one number; the name at least 2 characters. If something is wrong, the message appears right below the field.

Prefer Google?

The Google button sits at the top of the login card, not under Create an account. Signing in with it for the first time creates your account – no password, no confirmation email. Continue with step 4.

3 · Confirm your email address

Zeitbro shows Check your email and sends you a message titled “Verify your email address”. Click Verify Email in it: your address is confirmed and Zeitbro usually signs you in right away. Otherwise, sign in with your email and password. Until you confirm, signing in only takes you back to Check your email.

4 · Accept the terms

On your first sign-in, Zeitbro sums up its terms and links the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Accept & Continue moves on; Sign out stops here.

5 · Go through the setup

The setup has six steps. Each one is saved when you click Next; if you leave, Zeitbro picks up there when you come back.

  1. Language – English or Deutsch. English is selected at first. It then applies to the whole app.
  2. Federal State – sets your public holidays. Next stays disabled until you pick one. Some states add boxes for extra holidays; the Catholic community one starts ticked. Zeitbro currently knows German public holidays only: the state sets the state-specific ones, nationwide German holidays always apply. More in Public holidays by German state.
  3. Weekly hours – a slider from 10 to 50, set to 40. Below it you see your Daily target.
  4. Workdays – Mon to Fri at first. Next stays disabled with no day selected.
  5. Break rules – three tiers, by default 0, 30 and 45 minutes with limits at 6 and 9 hours. Set up automatic breaks explains the deduction.
  6. Past workdays – see the next step.
Fewer than 10 or more than 50 hours?

Pick the nearest value and fix it later in the settings – see Set up your work schedule.

6 · Fill in earlier days or skip

If you already worked earlier this month, Zeitbro can add those days. Pick a Start date between the first of the month and yesterday, and Office or Home office as Work location. The Preview shows how many workdays will be filled: each from 09:00, long enough to reach your daily target plus the break. Days off and public holidays are left out.

Then click Fill days or Skip. Either one finishes the setup and opens the calendar. On the first of the month, you only see Skip.

Frequently asked questions

What if the confirmation email doesn't arrive?

Check your spam folder. On the Check your email page, Resend verification email sends a new one; the button is then locked for a minute.

Can I change my setup answers later?

Yes. Weekly hours, workdays and breaks are under Settings → Work Settings, the state under Regional & Holidays. Switch the language with the globe icon at the top.
