How do I get started?

Sign up with your email address or use Google/GitHub OAuth. Once logged in, you can start tracking your work time immediately with one-click timers. Configure your work schedule, federal state, and pause preferences in Settings.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Zeitbro is a web application that works in any modern browser. Just open the app, log in, and start tracking. Your data syncs in real-time across all your devices.

How does auto-pause work?

Zeitbro automatically calculates break time based on German labor law (ArbZG). If you work more than 4 hours, a 15-minute pause is applied. If you work more than 6 hours, a 45-minute pause is applied. These thresholds are configurable in your settings.

Which federal states are supported?

All 16 German federal states (Bundeslaender) are supported. Zeitbro automatically detects public holidays based on your selected state, including regional holidays like the Augsburg Peace Festival.

What is the dual timer system?

Zeitbro has two timer levels: a workday timer that tracks your total work time from arrival to departure, and project timers that track time spent on individual projects. Only one project timer can run at a time, and all project times automatically sync to your daily total.

How does Gleittag (GT) work?

Gleittag is a flex-time day where you take time off using accumulated overtime. When you mark a day as GT, Zeitbro deducts your daily target hours from your overtime balance without adding any work minutes.

Where is my data stored?

Your data is stored securely in the cloud using Convex, a real-time backend service. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We follow GDPR requirements for data handling and storage.

Can I export my data?

Yes. You can export your monthly time records with all details including work hours, pause times, overtime balance, and status breakdowns. Export formats are designed to be HR-ready.

How is authentication handled?
